Specialty Camps

PARISH DAY CAMP
        Sugar Creek comes to you!

    Sugar Creek Bible Camp staff will bring their energy, new songs, and a great Bible study curriculum to your church. Day camp provides a unique experience for your children entering grades 1-5 and acts as a supportive ministry to your parish education programs.  We provide one staff person for every 10 campers (minimum of 3 staff).  You supply one volunteer per staff person and housing and meals for staff.  Our counselors will arrive on Sunday for your church service.  They will provide program activities from 9:00 AM-3:30 PM, or a schedule to meet your needs, Monday-Thursday.  Thursday evening closes with a program for parents and guests to hear songs and skits and see crafts from the week.  We will adapt the day camp to meet your needs.

COST:  $800 for four staff, up to 40 campers.  Each additional 10 campers requires one more staff or an additional $180 per staff. (Non-member churches pay extra fee of $50)
 

EXPLORERS
Entering Grades 1-5

Come for an exciting one-day adventure at Sugar Creek.  Explore camp life with games, nature activities, crafts, swimming, pony rides, Bible study and singing.  This is a great day for younger kids to enjoy Sugar Creek.  We encourage you to come as a church group.  The day runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00PM.

COST: $10.00 per camper

Adults are free.  Lunch and snacks are included.  Don't forget your swimsuit!

PILGRIMS Entering Grades 3 & 4

Spend two nights with nine other campers and your counselor in a cabin. During the day you'll get to go swimming, do crafts, have a pony ride and do bible study with your counselor. Don't forget about having a campfire at night. This shortened version of the Seeker program will be perfect for you and a friend. Group one will arrive Sunday afternoon and depart Tuesday at 6:00pm. Group two will arrive Wednesday at 9:00am and depart Friday at 3:00pm. Please see schedule for weeks offered.

SEEKERS
Entering Grade 4

Come for a week packed with fun, horseback riding, creek stomping, challenge course, crafts, campfires, pool party, Bible Study, singing, and much more.  You will stay in a cabin with nine other friends and one counselor.  Yes, invite a friend to come along and we'll all have great time. PATHFINDERS
Entering Grade 5

Hey, this week of fun and adventure is geared for you - our 5th graders!  You'll have a pool party, sauna, horses, challenge course activities, and special campfires!  You'll learn to cook over the open fire and sleep in tents (with beds).  Invite a friend and register today! Wagoneers
Entering Grade 6

This is a unique experience for our 6th graders! You will be spending the week with 6 friends and your counselor in a covered wagon village! YOu will be cooking your meals over the open fire, riding horses and mountain bikes, swimming, creek stomping, hiking and doing the challenge course! Sign up quickly for this pioneer adventure! DISCOVERERS
Entering Grade 7

If you come for this program you'll have an exciting week!  The days are filled with activities: Bible study, worship, hiking, challenge course, pool party, and more.  Your special event is going on an overnight camp-out with the horses.  There are four cabins with nine campers and one counselor! CONFIRMATION CAMP

Entering Grade 7-8

Sugar Creek offers three weeks of Confirmation Camp (Grades 7-8).  You will experience all the great activities of camp and meet new friends from other churches.  Your pastor will be there too!  The pastor will have 1½ hours each morning to use as class time with your Confirmation Class.  This week will complement and enhance your Confirmation Class instruction throughout the rest of the year.  Pastors/Youth Workers are free and must attend with the Confirmation Class. SETTLERS

 Entering Grade 8

This program is for the adventuresome campers.  You'll do challenge course activities, horseback riding, pool parties, campfire worships and go on a two night canoe trip out of camp!  You'll help cook meals on the wood cook stove and on the open fire.  We limit this program to three cabins of seven campers in each cabin.  This program fills up fast, so get registered today. PEDAL AND PADDLE

Entering Grade 8-9

Enjoy two days paddling on the Kickapoo River, two days peddling on the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail and camping out along the way.    The biking and canoeing is interspersed with Bible studies , games, campfires and other fun.  Grab a friend ans sign up today.  We provide equipment and staff.  (You must bring your own bike helmet.) PIONEERS

    Entering Grades 9-12

Adventures, camping, canoeing on the Mississippi River, and horseback riding excursions set the stage for challenges, fun and fellowship for the week.  Meet new friends and old friends in this small group of 15 people as you do Bible studies, cook over the fire and much more.  Experience some of the challenges the early pioneers once lived. RIVER BOATERS

    Entering Grades 9-12

Board a luxurious houseboat and go exploring the Mississippi River.  There will be campfires on the sandbars, Bible study and worship on the beaches.  The group will be 10 campers and two counselors.  This is a wonderful small group experience. See schedule for weeks offered.

JUNIOR WRANGLERS

    Entering Grades 10-12

Saddle up for a week of hands-on experience with the camp wrangler and team driver.  Help with the horse program at Sugar Creek, assist on trail rides and learn about tack care, horsemanship, safety concerns and general horse care.  Maximum three people per session. See schedule for weeks offered.

SAILING CAMP

    Entering Grades 10-12

Yes... let's go! Our sailing camp on lake Pepin! We'll set sail for three days, feel the breeze on our faces, enjoy the sunsets on the water and learn the basics of sailing a 32 ft. sailboat! Twelve campers plus our staff will be joined with a certified sailing master. We'll be staying at a campground on Lake Pepin. Don't miss this one! See schedule for weeks offered.

STAFF IN TRAINING

    Entering Grades 11-12

A special program for grades 11-12.  Would you like to learn what it is like to be on camp staff?  Here's your chance!  A small group of 8 youth will be selected for each 2 week session.  You'll learn the basics of camp staff skills, from hospitality, camp development and how to develop group activities.  You'll have Bible study and special events, also.  This will be a great experience for leadership training for youth groups. NEW! STAFF IN TRAINING II

Entering Grades 12

A special program for those who have already done the SIT program in the past years.  This is an opportunity to go a little more in depth into the life of a camp staff person. This is a two week session with the second week shawdowing a counselor. See schedule for weeks offered.

ADULTS ONLY CANOE TRIP

Lets go canoeing in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota!  We'll canoe some pristine lakes, enjoy the loons dancing around the canoes, hear the 'sounds of silence.'  You're not too old!!  We'll pack enough food to keep us all happy and healthy.  This is a special opportunity for those who have always wanted to do a wilderness canoe trip.  Leave Sunday, September 7th and arrive home the 12th of September.

COST:  $280

FAMILY CAMP

Hey Mom and Dad, let's go camp with the kids!  A great family outing with some special additives: fun staff people to lead games/campfires/hikes, horseback riding, nature hikes, pool time, etc.  We have bible studies, worship fun and great food!   August 11- 14, or Aug. 14 - 17

COST: $60 per person (maximum $270 per family)

MOTHER DAUGHTER RETREAT

Come and enjoy the comforts of our Koinonia Lodge with you mom or daughter. We'll have campfires, bible studies, horseback riding, a pool party and special activities. Join us for all the fun Friday, August 22- Sunday Aug. 24.

COST: $35 per person

FATHER SON RETREAT

Grab you dad to join you at camp. You'll get to stay in a cabin with other dads and sons and eat at the Summer Kitchen. Of course you'll go horseback riding, go swimming, have a fun bible study, campfires and worship. Join us for all the fun Friday, August 22- Sunday Aug. 24.

COST: $35 per person

 

 Camp Costs


Sugar Creek serves on a first registered, first paid basis.  Register NOW!!! We must have your registration and a $25 deposit to hold your spot. FULL BALANCE IS DUE BY JUNE 1ST. Camp sessions begin Sunday with registration from 2:00-4:00 PM and end Friday with closing program at 2:00, pickup - 2:30 PM. Families with three or more children can receive a scholarship. Contact the camp.
