Event volunteers
Sugar Creek is buzzing with activity year-round, and relies on volunteers to help make it all happen. From major events like the Annual Quilt Auction and Golf Fundraiser to smaller gatherings like Winter Fun Days, there are countless ways to get involved. With guests on-site every week of the year, you can also assist with hosting groups, kitchen duties, or housekeeping to keep camp running smoothly.

Summer camp volunteers
Sugar Creek comes alive each summer with the help of dedicated volunteers who bring the joy and adventure of camp to life. Whether serving as chaplains, kitchen assistants, health office coordinators, or sharing unique skills, there’s a place for everyone. Volunteers help with everything from Sunday camper check-in to hands-on activities at Pioneer Town, ensuring every camper feels welcomed, cared for, and inspired.
Most positions require a willingness to work with children, and health office volunteers must be 21+ with First Aid/CPR training.
Volunteer work weekend
Help prepare Sugar Creek for an incredible summer season during the Volunteer Work Weekend, held the first full weekend of May. Whether you’re building, cleaning, arranging, or sprucing up trails and equipment, your efforts ensure a safe and welcoming environment for campers. With projects suited for all skill levels, this is a perfect opportunity to bring your church group, friends, family, or youth group for a meaningful weekend of service.

Custom opportunities
At Sugar Creek, volunteering is as unique as you are! Past projects have included science classes pulling invasive honeysuckle, summer staff alumni enhancing the Nature Center, and church groups “adopting” a village or building to care for. Some churches have even designed their own custom work weekends, blending service with fellowship.
