Who we are

Sugar Creek Bible Camp is a camp and retreat and conference center located in Ferryville, Wisconsin. Established in 1966, the camp is fully ACA accredited and offers a wide array of impactful programs with “outdoor adventure” themes for over 1,500 children every summer (entering grades k-12) in
week-long residential and Day Camp programs.

Affectionately referred to as “the valley” amongst staff and guests alike, Sugar Creek is nestled in 660 beautiful acres of vast forest, trout streams, ponds, and prairies in the heart of the Driftless region of Wisconsin. Campers and guests enjoy ten miles of private trails and a variety of outdoor recreation activities.

Open year-round, Sugar Creek hosts overnight events every weekend for individuals and groups in three comfortable lodges, 16 cabins, and camping areas (RVs and tents). Food service is also provided by request.

Owned and operated by 125 churches in the Midwest (mostly Wisconsin), Sugar Creek is an ELCA Lutheran Bible camp welcoming children, families, and groups of all beliefs and backgrounds for custom events and meaningful retreats.

Sugar Creek is 501c3 nonprofit; donations are eligible to be tax deductible.

Program Philosophy

Sugar Creek is...

Campers need quality time outside. Our programs get them in touch with creation in ways that lead to awe, respect, and curiosity. Meals, Bible studies, worship, and fun activities all happen in God's beautiful creation.

Safety of campers is our top priority! Rigorous background checks and thorough training ensure that our staff is ready to respond to emergencies. Our concrete storm shelters and on-site nurse provide additional peace of mind. And, we meet the strict safety and program standards of the American Camping Association.

...Christ Centered!

Faith formation at camp is a way of life lived out in holy play, caring conversations, and intentional time spent in worship, Bible study, conversation, and in Gods glorious creation. Our faith expressions permeate every aspect of the camp experience.

Our fun-filled programs include age-appropriate activities, games, and songs. While every week at camp is different, campers might go creek stomping, play village games, camp out, swim, hike, do crafts and nature activities, enjoy archery, have a pool party, canoe, bike, have a pony ride or horse ride, and more!

...Small Group Focused!

Our philosophy is that young people learn and grow best in small groups. Your child will be with 6-8 other campers and one counselor for most activities, allowing for personal relationships and individual attention.
